4mm diameter straw tube is made of 2 back to back fused helix of Kapton strips.The kapton strip is coated with aluminum for electrical conductivity and the aluminum is further coated with carbon-polymide deposites for protection from radiation damage. The straw is re-enforced with 4 strips of carbon-fiber along the whole length for mechanical strength. The straw tubes are cathod and gas enclosure for individual proportional counters.
